A Japanese official defended a gifted by Putin cat from the coronavirus.

Norihise Satake, the governor of Akita Prefecture in Japan, sent a fluffy pet to quarantine, TASS reported. He hopes that this measure will save the animal from coronavirus infection.

The Siberian cat Mir is a gift from Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Satake, it is a special cat: at the sight of his face, the soul rests.

After reports that the coronavirus can be transmitted from people to cats, the caring owner decided to protect the pet from possible infection. Now the world communicates exclusively with members of the governor’s family.
