Elephants saved an Indian’s life and became millionaires

A resident of India made a will in which he wrote off half of his fortune to two animals that had repeatedly saved him from bandits’ attack.

The incident took place in the state of Bihar, the NDTV website reports.

A former employee of the elephant reserve Akhtar Imam decided to leave a 10 million rupee (9 million rubles) inheritance to elephants called Moti and Rani. According to the man’s story, his wards deserved a worthy reward for their protection from the gangs of local armed thugs.

The Imam also noted that the beasts, unlike people, are distinguished by loyalty, and he does not want to leave them, orphans, after death.
